I created the inflatable paper Text Ball in 2006 as a mascot for the Independent Publishing Resource Center’s annual fundraising event of the same name. I am grateful to students Danielle Sommer and Megan Heeres, who assisted me in creating the ball. The text on the ball is a quote from Ezra Pound: “The Book Should Be a Ball of Light in One’s Hand”. The text ball has also been exhibited at Donna Seager Gallery in San Rafael, CA and at the Paper Bienniale in Cheongju, South Korea.
