Studio Workshops
I offer a monthly papermaking and lampmaking workshops in my studio in N. Portland, ranging from 3-6 hours in length. Come join the fun and meet others who share an interest in paper! If you would like to schedule a workshop for your own group, please contact me. I am always developing new workshops, so please let me know if you have a particular interest. Scroll down to see all of my upcoming workshops.
I also travel and teach nationally and internationally. Contact me if you would like to invite me to teach privately or through an institution. You can peruse a list of recent workshops here.
I also hold an Open Studio for experienced papermakers every Thursday from 6:30-9:30.
BASIC PAPERMAKING workshops provide an introduction to the papermaking process with a specific focus. In each session you will learn how to pull sheets of paper and how to perform various papermaking and artistic techniques. Each session includes a lecture, demonstration, viewing of samples and hands-on experimentation. The paper you make during these workshops can take the form of cards, stationery, works of art or a substrate for printmaking, drawing and more.

There are no prerequisites for any of these workshops. Come and work at your own pace and level, and enjoy creative inspiration from other participants. Once you have taken one basic papermaking workshop, you are eligible to sign up for Open Studio sessions to work on your own projects.
LAMP & LANTERN MAKING workshops involve creating a functional lighting objects which can illuminate your home or serve as a unique gift for a loved one. Many of these projects are featured in my book, Paper Illuminated. Most of the techniques you will learn involve techniques which can be used to create other illuminating projects in the future.
